Who Does God's Favour Rest On?

Isaiah 33:15-17 (AMP)

"He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises gain from fraud and from oppression, who shakes his hand free from the taking of bribes, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes to avoid looking upon evil. [Such a man] will dwell on the heights; his place of defence will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; water for him will be sure. Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; [your eyes] will behold a land of wide distances that stretches afar."
May 2015 be the year we live in such a way that we dwell in high places, defended and powerful, with an abundance of provision (bread and water). May our eyes see the King and enjoy the spacious places He has provided, stretched out far and wide before us. So be it according to the Word of the Lord.

He Brings Victory

There are circumstances that press hard against our souls. That is the journey we face in this life. However, we are not without help. There is a God who observes all the wrong. He schemes the justice you desire. He orchestrates your victory in exacting detail. When you cannot trace His hand, you can trust His heart. He is for you and no one will prevail against you. There can be seasons which appear to bring nothing but destruction. This is not the end of the matter. God loves a big finale. He takes great pains to plan the decimation of an evil assignment against you and He will bring it to an end. That is His promise. Psalm 118:5-7 (NIV) "When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies." Wait with expectancy for God to deal with the injustice. It is your birthright. In the midst of the battle it may appear the enemy is winning, but it is not the end of the story. David knew the harshness of the storm. Ps. 118:12-17 "They swarmed around me like bees, but they were consumed as quickly as burning thorns; in the name of the Lord I cut them down. I was pushed back and about to fall, but the Lord helped me. The Lord is my strength and my defence; he has become my salvation. Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: 'The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things! The Lord’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!' I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done."
You will live to tell of the raging victory God is designing specifically for your trial... Shouts of victory will be coming from your tent! Wait expectantly for your God.

An Incredible Read

This is an incredible read ... in support of marriage and family... many faiths came together to discuss the crisis...
There is a crisis in the human ecological environment, he told us, in both the spiritual and the material foundations of the family. But he also urged each of us “to lift up yet another truth about marriage: that permanent commitment to solidarity, fidelity, and fruitful love responds to the deepest longings of the human heart.”
About the next generation he said, “It is important that they do not give themselves over to the poisonous mentality of the temporary, but rather be revolutionaries with the courage to seek true and lasting love, going against the common pattern. This must be done.”

God Came Through

I read today in Isaiah 64:5 "You come to the help of those who gladly do right, who remember your ways." I thought about this last year and how God came through for me in outstanding, unbelievable ways! I remembered the struggles I was facing, not knowing what the answer was or how God would "fix it". But He did. He fixed everything. He helped me just as His Word says. He had mercy on my soul and showed up with a vengeance in my situation, as He promises in Isaiah 35:4-5. I also remember that I had decisions to make about how I would conduct my attitudes and actions while in the midst of the storm. I felt the temptation of bitterness, anger and despondency, but as David declared, "Why so downcast oh my soul, put your hope in God." I chose to declare the promises of God. I chose, with gritted teeth, to do right when wrong was being done to me. I chose to love and not hate. I chose forgiveness when I would be justified to retaliate. God came to my side! He rescued me from the pit. Psalm 40:2 (NIV) "He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand." God saves us because that is what God does. It is His nature; He cannot be untrue to Himself. He rescues those who turn to Him. He did not do it on my timetable, but He did it and He did it well....in fact it was beyond miraculous and left my jaw dropped in disbelief at how He orchestrated my victory. He will do it for you. He is not a respecter of persons...God's promises are for all of us! If you're in need of help, the kind of desperate situation where it will take a God size miracle... it is on its way... Simply do right and remember His ways. He is worthy of your trust. He will come through. It's a promise to those who walk humbly before their God.

This was in a field ... a natural cave not far from Bethlehem where perhaps shepherds watched their flocks by night as the angels descended to tell them the greatest story ever told... I miss this sweater... I accidentally left it at the Sea of Galilee ... I wonder if it will have a story to tell? Did someone need it for the cold nights? I bought another one today...so I will not forget :)

Now I Love To Laugh!

I love to laugh NOW... but when WJOF asked for my life story...I told them about the days when I could not laugh because of the pain and brokenness. Here is a small bit of the true journey from devastation to destiny. I'm grateful that God doesn't need us to be perfect to love us. He's perfect ... we're forgiven.

Your Faith

When you are in the process of waiting for the conclusion of a difficult season and when you cannot fathom how it will all end well ... it is a beautiful gift ... it will teach you to walk in the purest form of faith. It takes no faith to believe that your dining room chair will hold you up when you haphazardly plunk yourself down in it, but to strap yourself to a zip line and fly across a deep valley hoping the wires will hold ... takes a little more trust. Even more faith is needed if circumstances require you to jump with a parachute from an out-of-control plane just before it crashes. You would have no choice but to trust that the apparatus on your back would save your life, as it has for countless others, when you pull the rip cord. Your HOPE would be that in spite of the dire and stressful crisis you are experiencing, you would live to tell the story. Although you may never have parachuted before, your CONFIDENCE AND ASSURANCE would be that it would hold you up and carry you to safety. Sometimes we face the magnitude of a parachute size problem, which causes us to have to jump into darkness, with no other solution but to trust in that which we do not see. Hebrews 11:1-2 "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for." Sometimes God will show you His greatest power by allowing your own strength and ingenuity to completely fail, causing your only CONFIDENCE, HOPE and ASSURANCE to be firmly rooted in Him alone. This is the only possible way for you to truly understand faith in the power of your God. If you can fix it, you will not see God. If you can scheme and manipulate your way to a solution, it will teach you nothing about His deliverance. If you are able to strategize your own victory, you will learn to trust yourself and not the God who heals the impossible. This would be a disservice to you. If you can see how it will all work out for your good, you will not fall to your knees, bankrupt of yourself, poor in spirit and in need of a God-sized miracle. As you walk through your pain ... broken and in desperate need of an answer you cannot provide...it is your greatest hour to hope in the assurance of the promises God has given, though you cannot see how He will bring it to pass. It is the hour of surrender, which leads to the refinement of your soul, the knowledge that God is truly in full control and your rescue is from Him alone. It will require you to admit you are incapable of maneuvering the triumph...it is a precious and beautiful gift. YOU WILL SEE THE HAND OF GOD ... As David, the Psalmist declared in Psalm 20:6 "Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand." It is not our right hand...It will be by His right hand alone, which will bring victorious power. If it is too big a problem for you to fix...you are in the perfect position to experience a massive, unprecedented God ordained conquest. It is on it's way ... stand in faith

All Things Are Possible With God

When a situation seems impossible and we cannot see the way out, there is a place we can run to... a frame of mind, in which we decide that we will not believe what seems hopeless before us. We need to cling to the unwavering truth that with God all things are possible. It will require putting away fear, anxiety and disbelief. Our hope is in the name of the Lord, who is faithful, above and beyond every accusation or circumstance that would rise against us. Zechariah 9:12 says, “Return to the stronghold [of security and prosperity], you prisoners of hope; even today do I declare that I will restore double your former prosperity to you." We can become imprisoned to 'hope'. When we discipline and secure our thoughts to a place where we cannot become dislodged, that is when we will see our victory. The Word of God says that our enemy is strategic in his desire to derail us. He hates us. I’ve heard people say they don’t believe in the devil and guess what, he’s just fine with that. If you don’t know he’s there, he can run roughshod all over your life. It’s like electricity, we can’t see it, but if we play with some live wires, we’re going to get burned. The Bible warns us not to be unaware of the enemy’s schemes. He whispers in your ear to say you’re unloved, a failure and useless ... he may even tell you to take your own life. Ephesians 6:11 says, ”Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” When you become a prisoner of hope and put on that armor, no weapon formed against you will have victory. God is your Protector and Defender. Any assault by evil forces will just bounce off of you...

God Will Fix It

Nothing is by accident. Nothing is out of control. If it is broken, God will fix it. If it is dismantled, God will restore it. If it is undone, God will do it up. If the storm is raging, God will calm it with a whisper at the appointed time. Isaiah 40:4-5 (AMP) "Every valley shall be lifted and filled up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked and uneven shall be made straight and level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory (majesty and splendor) of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it." Dry places, dead dreams, wounded souls and shattered hopes are all under the watchful eye of a Father Who never sleeps or slumbers. He will not let your justice and vindication be unfinished. He does not leave the devastated in their plight, but rather He shrewdly devises a way of redemption and healing so magnificent that you will laugh and laugh at how He unhinged the evil assignment sent to harm you. No weapon calibrated to destroy your call can ever, EVER be successful when your heart is steadfastly surrendered to His will. What is schemed and conspired by dark forces with wicked intentions in vulnerable moments will be revealed in truth and light. Today’s pain will become tomorrow’s victory. The loss will be swallowed up in a new day of joy and celebration, because great is our God who will not leave us in the devices of the dreadful. Triumph is imminent and forthcoming “…for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.”

Working Behind the Scenes

When things do not appear to be moving toward your breakthrough and when you cannot see with your eyes how powerfully God is moving behind the scenes on your behalf...go to the Word which is quick and powerful and rightly divides between what is truth and what is a lie. "So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised."
Hebrews 10:35-36 NIV

Never Alone

Though the storm rages, you are never alone. He has provided a Comforter who stands ready to embrace you, support you, defend you and guide you. He knew that our human experience would crave relationship, yet not find that purest of love in the eyes of mankind. God bequeathed a gift to fill the void. Providential provision accessed only thru intimacy with Jesus Christ. It is told in the repeated assurance throughout the Word of God as seen in Deuteronomy 31:8, (AMP) “It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; fear not, neither become broken [in spirit—depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm].” He is our life raft, a preserver that will carry us during the blackest of nights, the darkest of seasons and the stormiest of days. He is an unwavering guarantee of understanding, tenderness and affection... regardless of circumstance. It is only in receiving and accepting this extraordinary companionship that we will find a Friend who stays closer than a brother. He is the Lover, the enduring Provider and the Sustainer of you. He is the Whisper in the wind as you walk along the ocean, the encompassing blanket of Peace that passes all understanding in the face of unspeakable tragedy. He is the Power felt when weakness threatens to overwhelm. He’s the Strength to press towards the mark, the Confidante Who guards your reputation and the One Who walks through the garden right beside you when others have ventured down their own destiny’s path. The purest of truth reveals that through it all, you are never, never alone.

You Have an Advocate

When you are reprimanded in your broken state by those who value a false sense of propriety over your lavish and desperate worship. . .you have an Advocate Who will stand in defence of you. He tells them to leave you alone. When you've felt the stares, the rejection, the disdain of those appearing closer to Jesus on the outside, your Defender tells them to leave you alone. When the pain, shame and regret are so great that you risk the humiliation of become undignified in the presence of your Lord as onlookers scoff at the unabashed display, Jesus tells them to leave you alone. A time long ago, at an unexpected place, on an ordinary night, a sinful woman knew her failures outweighed what was left of her reputation. The revelation of her last hope had seized her soul. Here in the room was Jesus, Himself...the One who healed the blind, raised the dead and forgave the most notorious of sinners....the relentless redemption offered by only One Man in the universe now resided within her grasp. To her, the act was not extravagant...it was the only thing of value she had left. Under the watchful eye of those who would never understand, she poured out, not only the most expensive perfume she would ever own, but also the heaping weight of every errant choice, destiny killing regret and devastating decision. Falling through the tears, her heart poured out in surrender the greatest exchange she would ever make. . .her brokenness for His wholeness. At this rare moment, one of Jesus' own disciples, the chosen few... those so privileged as to walk right beside the Master when all the crowds had returned to their homes, became disgusted at the woman's waste. "Surely this perfume could have been sold to give to the poor!" Judas declared with a scowl. Did her heart feel more rejection, more shame as she was publicly rebuked by one of His own for coming undone? Would the mocking and laughter she had grown to accept now be confirmed even more strongly by the ridicule of one so close to the Saviour? Was there any hope that Someone would stand up for her, love her, extend to her unmerited grace, even now at her very lowest, laid bare for all to see? "LEAVE HER ALONE" came the staggering words of the Teacher, Himself. John 12:7 (NIV) “Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me." For everyone of us who have known the despair and unforgiving accusation of the enemy.... Jesus says, "LEAVE HER ALONE."

Saskatchewan!

Something pretty amazing is happening in Saskatchewan. Not only are we having the time of our lives travelling across the prairies, as you can see below with some of the women from this beautiful place, but women's lives are being changed forever. We had our first meeting where about 130 women showed up. The power of God graced us with His presence. Healing took place as women lined up at the altar for prayer and deliverance. Shame fell off, the spell of rejection, regret and insecurity was broken. Lies told in secret places of the heart were revealed and the power of deception was shattered... The enemy is a liar and his tactics are always the same. He goads and tempts us to mess up and then he spends the rest of our lives accusing us of our mistakes. The great news is that what was meant to destroy us has actually qualified us for the redemption of God. He did not come for those who were perfect, He is perfect. He did not come for those who could manage on their own, He came for those who needed a Saviour. Psalm 103:12 (NIV) "As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." Tonight Women's Journey of Faith (WJOF) with Jodi Kozan, Bailey Rudoski and Shawna-Rae Pierce are in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan at Victory Church... starts at 7 p.m. Say a word of prayer for us...

The Heart of God

The heart of God....Jeremiah 32:38-41 "They will be my people, and I will be their God. I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul."

About Psalm 119

When I was in high school our teacher Mr. Severson made us read the longest chapter in the Bible, Psalm 119, out loud as a punishment when we had all been a terrible handful. We groaned as we began the arduous discipline. I found it boring. Today...I can't stop reading it...it is life giving water to my soul...
WHEN I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO LIVE RIGHT...Vs. 9 How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. 98 Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide. 37 Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.
WHEN ENEMIES HAVE COME AGAINST ME...Vs. 21 You rebuke the arrogant;
those who wander from your commands are cursed. 78 Bring disgrace upon the arrogant people who lied about me; meanwhile, I will concentrate on your commandments. Sustain me, and I will be rescued; then I will meditate continually on your decrees. 118 But you have rejected all who stray from your decrees. They are only fooling themselves. 161 Powerful people harass me without cause, but my heart trembles only at your word.
WHEN I NEED GOD TO MOVE ON MY BEHALF...Vs. 166 I long for your rescue, Lord, so I have obeyed your commands. 126 Lord, it is time for you to act, for these evil people have violated your instructions.
WHEN I NEED TO KNOW HIS COMMITMENT TO ME...Vs. 107 I have suffered much, O Lord; restore my life again as you promised. Lord, give me your unfailing love, the salvation that you promised me. 38 Reassure me of your promise, made to those who fear you. 39 Help me abandon my shameful ways; for your regulations are good. Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope. 50 Your promise revives me: it comforts me in all my troubles.
WHEN I NEED TO KNOW HE LOVES ME...Vs. 76 Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant. 77 Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight.
WOW... I could go on...but it's all there in Psalm 119...your hope, your strength, your security of His powerful, unending love for you

The Journey

The journey may seem long and very difficult. It feels like endless days of wondering when the end will come, how it will unfold and where God is in the process. We feel His gentle hand on our shoulder in the dead of night when morning seems miles away. We know He's working when a friend calls to say, "You've been on my mind. I'm praying for you." We even see little miraculous moments that only God could have orchestrated...and yet we wait, with no conclusion, no wrap up in sight and no evidence of a "suddenly" happening to us. It is the most agonizing trial of our lives to wait on a promise of God and not see with our eyes what God is creating underneath what is visible. It is a time when we must find strength outside of ourselves to simply wait...and trust...and hope...and know that there is a God who laughs at the schemes of the wicked...for He knows their day is coming. There is a God who has no lack of power, ingenuity or resourcefulness to orchestrate your pledged victory. It is on its way. The only thing between you and God's total vindication in your life is time. Align yourself quickly with His will. Wait with courage...wait with anticipation...wait with hope. Your God commands your strength Ps. 68:28 There is no glory in giving up; no acceptable way to view your self-initiated defeat. God is not a man that He would lie...stand and wait with brave resolution for God's destined timing. He is not late. You, need not be early. Habakkuk 2:3 (NKJV) "For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."

Praise Brings Victory

What we might miss when we are in the raging inferno of our trial is how intimately and intricately God is directing the storm on our behalf. We cannot see how He is moving the pieces. After I recently saw God decimate the enemy on my behalf, I have read Psalm 71 as if it were written with me in mind. Since David did not know me, he was clearly writing of God's eternal truth to all of us....His loyalty to the righteous and His judgment on those who do evil. It may take a while for the walls of your Jericho to come down, but they are comin' down! Psalm 71 begins with a powerful prayer for God to intervene when there is a serious and desperate need for justice and deliverance. It then shows David's position and his refusal to stop praising God when things don't look good and ultimately, how God destroys his enemies... for good! Never to be seen again! Your victory is closer than you know. If the enemy can distract you with fear and anxiety you may miss the joy of watching it all unfold like a perfectly executed strategy of war against your foes. Here is a shortened version of Psalm 71... God's gonna show up with a vengeance!! "... For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth. From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother’s womb... For my enemies speak against me; those who wait to kill me conspire together...Do not be far from me, my God: come quickly, God, to help me. May my accusers perish in shame; may those who want to harm me be covered with scorn and disgrace...Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once more... My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I whom you have delivered. My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion." Selah...pause and reflect on what God is about to do for you...

The Battle

You may be dealing with a long-standing attack on your life and have come to realize that there is no way for you to get out of this on your own. The battle has been so intense for so long that you have almost accepted ... it may never end. You've prayed every prayer of deliverance, you've called out for mercy and justice to Almighty God and in the absence of visible intervention have reconciled that perhaps He simply does not see you. The one thing you do know is that this assault is a direct hit from the enemy who hates you and has been unrelenting in his battering. There was a woman "whom Satan had bound" (Luke 13:16) who had sustained eighteen years of attack. Eighteen years of infirmity which bent her soul, spirit and body toward the dust of the ground. Eighteen long years of wishing, hoping and praying that something, some miracle ... someone would help her, would heal her ... would see her and do something about it! Take the Old Testament story of Hagar, who declared in her crisis in Genesis 16:13 "...'You are the God who sees me', for she said, 'I have now seen the One who sees me.'" There is something powerful about finally SEEING the One Who sees you. Job was at the end of his desperate trial when he declared in Job 42:5 “My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you.” The woman in Luke 13 finally saw Jesus, the Son of God. It says in verse 12, “But when Jesus saw her …” God had known this woman’s plight since her conception, yet on this day ~~ HER eyes now saw the One who had always seen her. “He called her to Him and said to her, ‘Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.’” Eighteen years of pain and assault ~~ gone in a moment of time. If you are walking through an unrelenting furnace of affliction, set your heart, soul and eyes on seeing Jesus. Your suddenly is coming! When you see the vindication, healing, restoration and resurrection He has had specifically planned for you all along, your eyes will truly to opened to seeing Who He is. All loving, all compassionate, all-powerful, God of justice and truth. He is Who you must see… for that will set you free.

True Freedom

True freedom in life means understanding that you do not need to worry or fear what lays ahead of you. Complete surrender is a beautiful place. It is finally laying down all the control, the anxiety, the expectations of your own desires and ambitions. It is a a place of peace and trust in the One Who will order your steps in perfect synchronization (regardless of what your situation looks like today). He is God. He is the Master Architect. He is fully in control of even that which seems chaotic. He is not random; He is an exact, precise administrator of justice, beauty and victory. Our hope is in the name of the Lord. Whatever it looks like today, lay it down and give Him the room to do what He does best...bringing every thing to order and an avalanche of triumph in its time. Jeremiah 10:23 (NLT) "I know, Lord, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course."

Your GPS

I was driving to dinner tonight in the fog. After going for blocks on end in a part of town I'm unfamiliar with, without being able to see or recognize anything, I actually had no idea where I was. The fog was so thick I had a quick sense of panic till I realized my GPS was right in front of me and it new my exact position. I was so used to it sitting there and not paying much attention to it that I had not relied on it at all ... when I needed it most. In contrast to the hazy mist all around me the GPS was crystal clear...I had never noticed how sharp and precise the picture on my dashboard looked until I really had to depend on it when I could not even make out a visible sign post. I thought about how life is like this too. We go through a season where we can't see where we are headed. Nothing is familiar and we feel lost. A thick fog has set in and we know we are headed somewhere, but who knows how we will get there. We are out of our comfort zone, on unknown paths, with no ability to sense, with our own skills where we should go next...until we look to our GPS ~~ God's Positioning System. It knows exactly where we are and where we are going at all times. It measures the exact distance to your destination and has a set time for arrival. It isn't thrown off by a hurricane, typhoon or tsunami, it knows how to avoid a dead end. It speaks to us in a gentle voice when it's time to change directions. It never gets angry when we go left, when it should have been a right. It just reconfigures a new way. The circumstances have no bearing on its ability to guide us. When we cannot see ahead, it has already calculated the distance down to the inch. It is precise, fearless, faultless and trustworthy. If you're in a fog...look at your GPS.

Trials

Our trials are like the furnace faced by Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the book of Daniel. We feel trapped by the circumstance. We can't see a way out and pray that we will not have to endure the fire. We declare in faith that our God is able to save us, and yet we know He may not. We yield to His sovereign will even as we pray for a miracle, which seems like a long shot. Will He save us? We hope the crisis is averted, but suddenly we are being dragged by the enemy, towards the hot, fiery pit without any recourse. There's nothing we can do to stop the calamity. An agony we didn't know we could feel... overtakes us. Where is God we wonder? It's so brutal even the soldiers who carry out the damning orders… die of heat exhaustion. Everything in the wake of this disaster is lost. Barely knowing how we got here, we are engulfed in a blaze at a temperature that melts iron. Our prayers are so desperate we don’t recognize our own voice. “Father, will you save us or will we be destroyed?” The flames consume everything in their path…everything...but us ... A strange and astonishing awareness begins to unfold. There is someone else in the fire. His arms are strong and His face bears the comfort of One Who knows, all is well. Have you ever danced in the fire and did you ever imagine you could? Count it all joy. Who knew that there is an intimacy with Jesus that is only experienced in the inferno of affliction? Does He preserve His closest, most cherished encounters for those whom He trusts to endure the scorching flames? Suddenly, there is a courage that grips our soul; a hope in the dream that we had previously had no evidence of seeing actualize. “We may survive this nightmare”, we ruminate. As quickly as it all began, we are escorted from the fire in a march of commemoration to the God Who never forsook us though we worried He would. It is finished. He is the God Who is seen most closely by those who have lost all security in earthly treasures. When Jesus is all of you've got, He is all you need. The fire ends and we remain. Daniel 3:27 (AMP) "And the satraps, the deputies, the governors, and the king’s counselors gathered around together and saw these men—that the fire had no power upon their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed; neither were their garments scorched or changed in color or condition, nor had even the smell of smoke clung to them." When our trial is over, there will be no evidence of the anguish; no sign or scar of the pain and no smell of the smoke. When this is over, your victory will be astounding and used to the glory of God alone. Trust Him.

Are you up against a formidable enemy that is terrifying your life?  There’s an amazing story in 2 Kings 6.  If we could see the power that surrounds us in the invisible world, we would not be afraid of the onslaught of disastrous circumstances that seem to be rising against us.  When the servant of Elisha woke up one day to see the enemy had surrounded their city for the specific reason of killing them, he was terrified.  Your situation may terrify you.  It may appear you are outnumbered.  There is no visible way of escape and it looks hopeless.  The man of God, Elisha, had weathered many storms of life.  He was not a novice in the things of the supernatural.  He knew the power of God.  He had already seen the incredible manifestation of the vengeance of God on behalf of His children…over and over again.  There is no indication that Elisha saw with his natural eyes what he next gifted his servant with.  Elisha said, “Fear not, for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” The servant could not comprehend what Elisha was talking about.  Clearly they were about to be consumed by the enemy…clearly with all the facts … as they appeared; this was going to end badly.   I love this in verse 17, “And Elisha prayed, ‘Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.’” May God open our eyes to see that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and rulers of darkness.  If our fight is not against what we actually see with our eyes, then our worry, anxiety and stress over the visible is a complete waste of time.  God is fighting for you in a realm you cannot see, except your eyes of faith are opened. The verse continues, “Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”  God is not mocked; He is not weak; He is not powerless and He will not let our justice be miscarried.  He will not leave us defenseless when attacked by evil.  With the precision of a laser-guided weapon, God will obliterate the assault of our adversary.  Do not look at what your eyes can see.  This is not a battle of circumstance.  Fight with prayer that your eyes would be opened to see the most powerful force in the universe, steadily, immovably, unstoppably at work on your behalf.

Your Promotion is Coming

Your greatest promotion comes on the heels of a season of failure. When everything you ever put your hope in is a let down; when what used to work...collapses and when your endless toiling yields no reward, your promotion is coming. When Jesus found Peter, he had failed to meet his quota for success. He had done all the right things that his seasoned experience demanded, but there was no catch...nothing, dismal disappointment. The deep things of life were about to be revealed to Peter in Luke 5, as Jesus said, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” Peter had already done this...all night long. It didn't work. There was no provision or good that came from it. Peter had a choice at this moment, to trust God or his experience. In faith Peter said, "Nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net"...that blind faith is when Jesus showed up with a net-breaking blessing. So much provision ensued that the net Peter had always used to hold it was not enough. Your net is not enough to hold what is coming. God will break everything we put our trust in that is not of Him. Peter saw a miracle where he had previously had to strive for everything. This caused him to bow in humility as he realized he had just come in contact with the One True Provider. Peter fell down at Jesus’ feet, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” Peter's humanity and vain futility of effort became crystal clear. It was then that Jesus took him into his next phase...a fisher of men...Peter's promotion. It was after the failure that Peter knew he needed a Saviour. It was the contrast between slavery to works of his own flesh and the miracle provision of a life-giving God. "So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him." Your failure will lead to your destiny...look for the miracle.

Facing Adversity

I really hate pain in life. Adversity stretches my soul to its breaking point. I detest the feeling...but I wonder who I would be without it? Had I not lost… would I appreciate what I have gained? My broken heart has given me empathy for the one who is crushed with grief. Would I have compassion for those who suffer if I hadn't felt the bitter hurt of a shattered dream? If I had not cried my own tears… would I truly care about yours? The season when money and resources were scarce… addressed my disregard for the poor. The temptation that almost destroyed me… gave me wisdom to guard the rest of my years. The decimation and consequences of secret lies taught me a healthy respect for the brilliance and peace of God’s laws. When I faced the brutal humanity of my own failures, I found the astonishing redemption of God. I now fear the fallout of stupidity. Had I not been forgiven so much… I may not have been able to offer forgiveness to those who have wounded me. The humiliation of my ego; the crushing of my pride has given way to contentment without entitlement. When I was seemingly abandoned in a prison of endless waiting for my breakthrough, I learned that faith is the evidence of things not observed with my senses. It is the very substance of hope in a God you cannot see, without justifiable indication of the miracle that finally comes in His timing. In the midst of the torment, I learned He was so close I could feel His breath on my face. I found out He shows up with a vengeance ~ just like He promises. I had heard of His faithfulness, but now I know it in my soul. Count it all joy when you experience a myriad of difficult tests and trials. They become the firing kiln that fortifies the foundation of your destiny with wisdom and power. When you come through… you become unstoppable.

Fight With The Devil

For all of you who have found yourself in a knock-down, drag out, dirty, back alley fight with the devil over something he has tried to take from you…rest assured, he’s not going to win. He’s gone after your kids, your spouse, your money, your stuff, your sense of identity, your power, your talents, your calling and your dignity, but he’s fighting a losing battle and it’s time for him to run. The Lord rebukes him. This battle does not belong to man, but to God Almighty and He has already promised you that you win! 2 Chronicles 20:17 “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem! Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.” Whatever you have lost, had ripped out of your hands, watched in horror as it became a vapor before your eyes and grieved over the magnitude of the attack…it is time to see the monumental vindication of your God on your behalf. Position yourself in a posture of complete surrender to the Commander and Chief Who goes before you and takes no prisoners. Stand still and see the redemption of your God.
